Besides creating Global Issue Templates every user can create templates for his own needs. The configuration does not differ from the Global Issue Template configuration. To create a custom issue template, navigate to your Jira profile and choose Issue Templates:

Choose a name and a description for your template:

After that you can Configure Fields:

Select “Add Template” on the top right of the screen to create a new Template. The create screen will allow you to define the main configuration:

Name: Define the name of your Template.

Type: The Template can lead to the creation of a parent issue type (Issue Template) or child issue (Subtask Template).

Description: Add additional information for the users.

Cron Schedule: If added, when the CRON expression is reached the Template is triggered automatically.

To add field values, click on the action icon after the template has been created, and select "Configure Fields":

A screen will pop up allowing you to choose which fields should be prefilled. Note that a summary is always mandatory:
