With the project sync you can sync Jira issues with projects so that the issue carries certain attributes of your project. The idea is to have issues that represent Jira projects and therefore can be used to manage the projects (for example in boards).
Create Project Synchronizers
Navigate to the app administration → Synchronizers → Project Sync:
Now you have to define from what source to what target you want to synchronize. After performing the sync there will be automatically created 1 new issue per project in selected Source Project Category. Per project category you can create 1 synchronizer, so that you would need to create synchronizers for all project categories in case you would like to sync all your projects.
Field Mapping
Source Project Category: For every project category you can create one synchronizer. After syncing for each project in the selected project category will be created 1 issue in the target project.
Target Project: Issues created by the sync will be created in the defined target project.
Target Type: New created issues will have the issue type defined as target.
Project Key Field: This field will be filled with the project key of the source project. You can only choose single line text fields here.
Project Category: This field will be prefilled with the project category of the source project. You can only choose single line text fields here.
Project Lead Field: This field will be prefilled with the project lead of the source project. You can only choose user picker fields here.
User Account for Synchronization: Choose the user that should perform the synchronization. The user needs to have permissions for the projects in the selected category, otherwise an error will occur.
The fields project key, project lead and project category have to be placed in the view screen of the target project, otherwise they will not be filled with values from the source project.
