How to Access Templates

Templates can be accessed and applied in various ways. Let's explore them together!

Find & Use a Template from the Library

Users have the ability to access and utilize any template within the Library, provided they possess the necessary permissions.

Project Navigation Sidebar

Users can also access templates via a pop dialogue directly from the project navigation sidebar.

Issue ‘Actions’ Menu

Users can also access templates directly from the issue view through the Actions menu (•••). In this menu, you’ll find an Apply template option. When selected, a dialog appears with a dropdown list of available templates. Users will only see templates they have permission to view.

Keyboard shortcut

Template dialog also can be opened via a keyboard shortcut combo g+t.

In certain situations, another application may already utilize a shortcut. Jira prioritizes the product that was installed first. To assign priority to a specific shortcut, uninstall both conflicting applications and reinstall the preferred app first.
