Custom Field: Find & Replace

The “Find & Replace” custom field can be used to find & replace values from the following fields:

summary
description
single + multi line text

Example: the summary of the template issue is $projectname. Maybe this “variable” is also used several times in the description. With the find & replace function this variable $projectname can be replaced with the actual project name.

Create a Find & Replace custom field

Step 1 is to create a new custom field from type “STAGIL Find & Replace” and set the screens (=your template issues). No further configuration is necessary.

Select your field in the app administration

Go to the app administration → Post Functions. Select your the field created in the step above:

Use the find & replace function

The field appears like this in the edit mode:

Now write your value into the text fields. According to our example from above, we would write $projectname into the “find” section and the actual name of the project in the “replace” section. Press the +button.

From now on the find & replace function will be used when new issues are created via template.
