Global Table Navigator

Global Table Navigator

Overview

Table Navigator is a separate page in Jira where users can pull and merge all tables of a specific configuration and then view and interact with them as if they were one unified table.

Accessing the Navigator page

Any user can open the Global Table Navigator in two ways:

  • From the Tables entry in the top navigation
If your screen is too small or your site has too many other apps, the entry may be located under the More menu.

  • From the user Profile menu.

Jira admins can hide the Tables entry from the Top Navigation bar. This configuration available is under Administration → Apps → Global Table Navigator.
Even if the entry is hidden, users can still access the page from the user Profile menu.

Users can select one table at a time to view it in Navigator.

If one table has several contexts, it will be displayed as multiple options, with the context name indicated in brackets (see the ‘Invoice’ table option in the screenshot above).

To indicate which issue a particular row belongs to, each table will be automatically expanded by one more right column, ‘Source issue’, with a parent issue key as a value.

The [···] menu in the top right corner provides access to table configuration options. This menu is only visible to administrators, ensuring that only authorized users can modify table settings.

Search & Filtering

There are two options for search in Table Navigator:

  1. JQL search: used to filter by issue’s attributes

  2. Table column filter: used to filter by values in STAGIL Table. This filter follows the same logic as a similar table field filter in issue view.

Permissions

If a user does not have permission to view a specific issue, the table rows from that issue will not be displayed in the navigator. This ensures that data visibility adheres to user permissions and access levels.

This feature is currently still in development. We have several more features on the roadmap, such as:

  • filtering & sorting

  • displaying full display style configuration, e.g. table sum.

  • CSV export

  • adding an issue custom field as a column to the Navigator view
