Page version management: Timestamp

Page version management: Timestamp

A timestamp feature is available to distinguish between content in the editing stages and content ready for viewing. It allows users to mark a specific version of a Confluence page as “released.”

Any user with edit permission for the synced issue can do this. It requires setting a timestamp that matches or follows the intended publishing time. The timestamp is stored in a custom DateTime field on the Jira issue.

Learn more about how to configure the fields here: Timestamp field configuration. Version markers will appear in page view only if the field is configured.

Once the timestamp is set, we update the page’s version status and display it in the page byline:

There are two possible version states:

  • Released version – The version of the page that matches the timestamp.

  • Unreleased version – Any versions created after the timestamp.

Released pages do not have a workflow button displayed.
