Advanced links integration of Assets for Jira from STAGIL

Advanced links integration of Assets for Jira from STAGIL

Overview

This article explains how to set up advanced links integration of the Assets for Jira app from STAGIL by catworkx for the Workflows and fields app. Advanced link fields can be displayed and managed in various locations within the app, like:

  • Filtering by advanced link fields in the document search

  • Displaying advanced link fields in the popup on the page

  • Also, you can add them to the inline page macro

Prerequisites

  • Administrator access to your Jira and Confluence Cloud instances

  • Active STAGIL Workflows and fields app installation

  • Active STAGIL Assets app installation

Creating API Token and enabling integration

Step 1: Access token creation

  1. Navigate to your Jira Cloud instance

  2. Go to Settings → Apps → STAGIL Assets → API tokens

  3. Click "Create API Token"

  4. Name your token appropriately for tracking purposes

  5. Save the generated token securely - you won't be able to see it again

Step 2: Enabling advanced links integration

  1. Navigate to your Confluence Cloud instance

  2. Go to Confluence Administration → STAGIL Workflows & fields → Advanced links integration

  3. Enable Advanced links integration toggle button

  4. Provide following information in the dialog inputs:

    1. Username: {Token label name from STAGIL Assets app}@{Name of the Jira instance}.atlassian.net for example stagilworkflows@stagil.atlassian.net

    2. API Token: Your generated API token string

Security Best Practices

  1. Store API tokens securely and never share them

  2. Use unique tokens for different integrations

  3. Regularly rotate tokens for enhanced security

  4. Monitor token usage through audit logs

  5. Revoke unused or compromised tokens immediately
