👥 Teams in Timetracker

Organize and analyze work across teams that matter most to your business

Teams let you organize users across the structure that fits your business — not just by Jira projects. You can group people by Department, Client Team, Delivery Unit, or any other relevant unit. This makes it easier to manage and coordinate the work done by a group. Once set up, users can belong to one or more teams, and these assignments can be leveraged for reporting and analysis.

Key Features:

  • Flexible team creation: You can create free-form teams and assign Team Leaders who can manage membership, adding or removing users as needed.

  • Worklog-level accuracy: Each worklog is associated with a single team at the time it is recorded. This ensures historical reporting is precise — when filtering by a team, only the worklogs logged under that team will appear.

  • Team assignment when logging work:

    • Users in one team will see it in a read-only field and it will automatically be assigned when logging work.

    • Users in multiple teams can select the relevant team using the Team selector, with the default choice based on the project associated with the worklog.

  • Powerful reporting: Teams behave like Tags and Attributes — you can filter, group, and drill down in reports by team, giving you deeper insights into how work is distributed across your organization.

Why it matters:
By linking worklogs to teams, you can track contributions accurately, manage team-level work more effectively, and analyze data in reports with the same flexibility as other metadata.
