The Traffic Lights field can be updated via an automation rule.

The field is not available for selection in the select list on the rule configuration page. To create a rule, use the ‘More options’ section of the configuration page.

Define the value for the field in the following format:

{ "customfield_10059": {"light":"Left","name":"Red"} 
     } 
}

where

‘10059’ is a custom field ID.
