Even though the Advanced Link field is not a custom field, it can be present in the Create issue dialogue. Users can browse, select, and link issues during issue creation through an Advanced Link field.

This feature is not available by default and requires additional configuration. Each field (outward & inward) is enabled separately. To add a specific Advanced Link field to a create issue dialogue:

  1. Go to the Display Style configuration tab and check out the option to Enable field on create screen → Save.

  2. If not already configured, selecting a Searching user in the Data Logic configuration tab is also required.

During the first configuration, a one-time authorisation is required. Once the checkbox in step 1 is checked off for the first time, the authorization dialogue is opened. The Jira user email field requires an email of a user with Jira administration permissions. Next, enter an API token associated with the Jira user email and select Enable.

Please note that enabling Advanced Links for several contexts at once or global context requires a few minutes for the field to appear in the Create issue screen.
