Advanced Issue Filter Panels are used to create read-only issue panels to display linked issues.

To Jira administartors can start panel configuration navigate by navigating to the app administration → Advanced Issue Filter Panels → Add Advanced Issue Panels.

Defining the Context

To set the field context of an Advanced Issue Panel click Manage. Then tet the context by choosing projects and issue types.

Project administartors can access Issue Filter panels page via Project Settings → Apps → Issue Filter panels. On this page project administartors can:

  • see a list of panels that have been configured for this project and create new the panels as well.

To access the panel’s configuration, click on the [···] menu and select ‘Manage’.

The next page allows you to manage the following panel configurations:

  1. Context configuration.

  2. Data logic and display style.

Scope

The scope field defines the criteria that determine the list of issues displayed within the panel.

Subtask of current issue: show all subtasks of the current issue + optionally apply further restrictions via JQL.

Stories of current epic: show all stories of the current epic + optionally apply further restrictions via JQL.

Issues linked to current issue: show all issues linked to the current issue.

Select Links (link type) and link Level. Optionally provide a JQL. The lookup link panel will show all issues linked to the current issue that match the defined link type (any link type if nothing is specified), link-level and scope JQL.

Searching User

This configuration allows you to affect the scope of issues displayed in the Issue Panel. If the Current User is selected the issues will be displayed according to the current user's permissions. If a particular user is selected the scope will be defined according to this user’s permissions.

JQL: Show all issues in the scope of the JQL provided in the “JQL scope” field below.

Issues linked to issues from JQL: Show all issues linked to defined “starting issues”.

Searching User

This configuration allows you to affect the scope of issues displayed in the Issue Panel.

When the "Current User" option is selected, the issues displayed are based on the current user's permissions. On the other hand, selecting a specific user will define the scope of issues according to that particular user's permissions.

Please note that the configuration only affects already linked and displayed issues. Searching and linking is based on the current user's permission.

In the “selectable issues” or “starting issue” field you can use the {reporter} and {assignee} placeholder as well.

Display Style

Define the display style of your Advanced Issue Filter Panel. You have the following options:

Panel: Relations (Left) / Relations (Right). Select if you want to display the relation table at the your issue's left or right side of your issue.

Display Style: Table / List / Table + pop-up

Rows per page: Select the max. amount Amount of rows per page (the rest will be shown with pagination).

Fields to show: Select the fields that should be displayed in the panel.

Issue Progress Bar: Sums up the progress of linked issues in the panel based on status and visualizes it in a progress bar.

Configuration export

Panel configuration can transferred between instances via an import/export of a JSON file.

To export or import the configuration, go to the panel configuration page and click on the [···] button:

SelectExport configuration to download a JSON file with all existing panel configurations.

Select Import configuration to upload the a file with panel configurations:

  • Add configurations only to create new Issue Filter panels, OR

  • Overwrite existing configurationsto apply changes to already existing configurations.
