The Advanced Link field, although not a custom field, can be accessed in the Create issue dialogue. Through this field, users can browse, select, and link issues during issue creation. However, this feature is not readily accessible and requires additional configuration. Both the outward and inward fields need to be enabled separately.
To include a particular Advanced Link field in the create issue dialogue, follow these steps:
Go to the Display Style configuration tab and check out the option to Enable field on create screen → Save.
It is also necessary to select a Searching user in the Data Logic configuration tab if it has not been done already.
During the first configuration, a one-time authorisation is required. Once the checkbox in step 1 is checked off for the first time, the authorization dialogue is opened. The Jira user email field requires an email of a user with Jira administration permissions. Next, enter an API token associated with the Jira user email and select Enable.
Once the checkbox has been selected and the configuration has been saved, a custom field will be generated with the identical name as the advanced link field. This newly created custom field can then be customized through its settings to become a mandatory field.
Please note that enabling Advanced Links for several contexts at once or global context requires a few minutes for the field to appear in the Create issue screen.
