To make it easy for users to access Confluence pages from Jira, a custom field can be configured with a link to a synced page.

Jira field configuration

  1. To begin, create a designated custom field in Jira. Create 2 fields for pages with a Timestamp configuration.

  2. ‘Short text’ or ‘Paragraph’ custom field types can be used.
    (warning) ‘Short text’ field does not support rich text. Please the examples of link rendering for both fields below:

  3. Navigate to Jira Project settings and go to Fields. Ensure that your custom field is configured with the Wiki Style Renderer.

Configuration in Confluence

Next, continue to the configuration in Confluence. To configure the Page Link Field, perform the following actions:

  1. Navigate to the project-space synchronizer.

  2. Access the three-dot menu and choose 'Configure fields'.

  3. Click on the 'Page Link Field' tab.

  4. Select a designated field links to a draft and released page.
    (info) For pages that are not timestamped use the ‘Draft page link field’.

As a result you should the text field will be automatically populated with a link to a linked Confluence page.
