After the STAGIL Navigation for Confluence app has been installed, an app configuration page tab is created in the system settings sidebar. Every instance administrator can access it through Settings → STAGIL Navigation → Top Navigation.

Navigation items

Navigation customisation implies creating new tabs, i.g. items. These items can be managed and organised according to each team’s unique requirements and needs:

  • order in which items are displayed

  • custom icons, assignable to each item

  • controlled visibility with restrictions set for user groups

There are two types of navigation items:

  1. Sub-navigation: a folder tab to place and group other navigation items, including the sub-navigation entries.

  2. Web link: a link to a Confluence or external web page.

Creating a navigation item

To create a 1st level navigation item, use an Add navigation item button in the top right corner of the app configuration page. Select Manage in the item’s Actions menu to create a new item within a sub-navigation.

Managing navigation items

To change the order of items, click on the drag & drop the item in the configuration page.

Visibility restrictions

Each navigation item can be restricted from being viewed by certain groups via Allow and Block lists. They are configured individually for each item in the Create item dialogue or can be edited anytime through a 3-dot menu.
