how it works

STAGIL Navigation for Jira Cloud consists of:

  • Navigation menus you configure (folders and links)

  • a browser extension that displays those menus inside Jira

Without the extension, users will not see your custom navigation.

before you start

  • make sure the extension is allowed in your browser (some organisations restrict extensions via policy)

  • decide who owns the menu structure (one admin, or per department)

  • agree simple naming rules, so menus stay tidy

set up in 10 minutes

  1. Install and enable the STAGIL browser extension.

  2. Open Jira Cloud and confirm the STAGIL navigation entry appears in the sidebar.

  3. Create a new menu (for example, “Work”).

  4. Add a folder and a few links.

  5. Publish your changes.

  6. Ask one colleague to verify it works on their side.

open advanced navigation in Jira

You can open advanced navigation in two ways:

  • from Jira’s Apps menu entry in the sidebar

  • using a keyboard shortcut (if enabled in your configuration)

limitations

  • STAGIL Navigation for Jira Cloud does not add a top navigation bar.

  • menus are shown in Jira’s sidebar and in the advanced navigation panel only.

  • the extension must be enabled for each user who needs the navigation.

What's Coming Next?

We're currently reimagining our Advanced Navigation feature to offer persistent, always-visible navigation menus instead of the current pop-up interface. This significant update aims to further streamline your navigation experience and is targeted for release at the end of Q3 2025.
