Each synchroniser has a ‘Sync’ option available in the ‘Actions’ menu.

The ‘Sync’ button triggers manual synchronisation for:

  • page & issue: a Jira issue is created for all pages, as defined by a synchroniser’s configuration.

  • field: updates are triggered for page link fields, timestamp fields, and issue fields.

  • workflow status.

(info) Use case.

A synchroniser ‘Selected pages’ is created to connect a Confluence page with a Jira issue, e.g. issuetype = Task.

A create screen for a Task issue type has some mandatory fields configured previously. As a result, when a user in Confluence attempts to sync a page and trigger issue creation, no issue will be created. The event will be halted as mandatory fields can not be filled.

Once the admin identifies the issue, it is required to repeat the synchronisation. By using the ‘Sync’ button a manual sync will be triggered, creating matching issues for orphaned pages.
