Import

When you are currently using a different profiles and skill management tool and you want to switch to STAGIL Profiles and Skills or you have been using data sheets like Excel for having your employees data on file, you can use the import function of our app to add all the external data directly into your users' profiles.

Therefore, navigate to the app's "Import" menu in the Confluence administration:

In the info box you can find some information on how the input file should look like, but here is the detailed explanation for creating an input file:

  1. Basically you have one profile per person and several profile fields that are provided by our app and which are arranged in tabs and sections in the profile.

  2. Create a tab-separated CSV file.

  3. The first row includes the names of the columns:

    1. The first column is called "username" and includes the Confluence user name of the profile that you want to modify.

    2. The following columns' names are the exact field names that you have created with STAGIL Profiles and Skills and included in the profiles.

  4. The next rows include the data that you want to import.

    1. As mentioned, the first column includes the user name.

    2. The other columns are filled with the values that will be added to your users' profiles.

  5. Notes about the input format:

    1. Separate all values per column with tabs.

    2. For drop-down, radio button and check list menus, please make sure that your input values are exactly matching the configured options in the app.

    3. For multi-select drop-down menus and check list menus with more than one option, please separate the options that you are importing in one column with a comma plus a space.

It is not possible to create new users with the STAGIL Profiles & Skills import. You can only update existing user profiles
