Migration to Cloud
Moving your Confluence site to Cloud? Here’s everything you need to know about how our app (in Cloud known as Link Tools) behaves during the migration.
Migration summary
Macros migrate with page content — no extra setup required.
Most configurations are retained and will appear as they were before.
Macros continue to display links after migration, once indexing is complete
Macro parameters, supported in Cloud
While the macro configuration is retained during migration, not all macro parameters are currently supported in the Cloud version.
The following parameters will be preserved and applied on Cloud:
Space filter – if the specified space exists in the Cloud target
Label filter
Height setting (i.e. fixed height for the macro display box)
All other macro parameters (if any) will be ignored in Cloud.
Manual re-indexing required
After the migration is complete, you must trigger manual indexing in the app before any links can be displayed.
This is a necessary step for the app to scan and rebuild its internal map of link relationships in your Cloud instance. Until indexing is complete, macros may appear empty.
Important note about space filters
If your macro configuration includes a space filter, be aware of the following:
The macro configuration will be migrated with the filter.
However, if the referenced space does not yet exist in the Cloud instance at the time of indexing, the filter will silently fail — and the macro may appear empty or return no links.
Recommendation: Migrate all relevant spaces at the same time, or ensure that any space referenced in macro filters already exists in the Cloud instance before triggering indexing.
