Context
Once created each issue template is assigned a global context on three levels: project category, project and issue type. Context defines in which projects and issue types the template shall be available for applying to the issue.
In order to set the template context go to template navigator and click on the three-dot actions menu of a template in question. Select Manage Context for the following dialogue:
Context configuration fields are multi-select that add flexibility to template management across the instance. It is also possible to leave the context fields empty, essentially disabling the template visibility globally.
Template context can be viewed in the template navigator in a dedicated Context column. For a quick overview, a tooltip with context configuration will pop up when hovered over.
Project context is called to simplify template management and search on the issue creation. The template navigation dialogue has a By Project filter to access a suitable template.
Issue type context also served as a filter to display the applicable template in the issue edit view in the Templates button dropdown, as pictured below.
